Shinken is a learning process that is derived from the Oriental Wisdom. Experience is an outcome of the learning process.
It is pronounced in Nihongo Hiragana as "Shin-Ken". Shinken consists of 2 Kanji characters: Shin (mind) & Ken (sword). When both Kanji characters are put together into one phase, the noun “Shin” becomes a transitive verb onto its object “Ken”, and it carries the meaning of “Mind the Sword” or “Use the Sword with Full Awareness”.
The Purpose of Shinken is: To Experience Our Mind. By performing the sword with full awareness, we are able to know how our body & mind work in each movement. When This State of Mind is Attained, Our Mind is Clear. Its Clarity Will Sharpen Our Perspective in Decision Making.
