Raise and Fall of Leaders

Facts about Leaders

Leaders influence others. Their power of influence attracts respects and admiration from others. History showed that many successful leaders continued to excel from one new height to another along their career. This was because they knew how to avoid the pitfall from indulging too much into the sensational feeling aroused from the respect and admiration which generated by their power of influence.

Raise of Leaders

The key reason why these successful leaders were able to accommodate the exposure of such sensational feelings was: they kept their “beginning mind”: A mentality that gave them the meaning of what they were doing which motivated them throughout their journey. And the mentality also made them realized that: their success was not the “terminal” of their journey. They viewed their success as just one of their many “transits” along their journey in life. Hence, they moved on from one success to another success, and hardly fell into complacency.

Fall of Leaders

On the contrary, some leaders in the history did not excel further as they were overwhelmed by sensational feelings aroused from the success they attained as they get into a habit to receive the respect and admiration from their followers. Gradually, they departed from their “beginning mind”. When they started to decline, they showed signs. And, it was not surprising to see significant changes in their lifestyle, behavior, partners and friends as they started to decline from their peak.

Hence, having the ability to see the changes within (our mind) is a key for sustainable success.

Have a great day!
